Scandinavia Design doesn't sell copies

You've found the same object 3 or 4 times cheaper on another website and you're wondering why? It's a copy.

At Scandinavia Design, we don't sell copies, only original pieces protected by intellectual property laws. For each of these pieces, there's only one authorized manufacturer who has the exclusive right on it, and for whom we are an authorized retailer (please, consult official retailer lists on manufacturers' websites).


Scandinavia Design doesn't like copies

In order to reduce production costs, copyists lower:

- the quality of materials: recycled woods, synthetic leathers, cheap foams, nylon cords instead of paper cords, etc.

- the quality of work: less qualified craftsmen, faster working procedures with lower quality standards.

In order to get around Intellectual property laws, copyists also modify slightly the design, affecting harmony and balance of the shape.

The object not only loses its beauty, but also its functionality, personality and intelligence of conception.

On the picture, the copie looks like the original? Pictures don't have a contractual value and, exactly as copies, their purpose is to mislead by creating an illusion.

Even if one would like to believe in miracles, low quality always ends by showing at some point: table legs that disconnect from the object, fabrics that come unstuck, foam that grows hollow, broken screw threads, etc. And what once seemed like a good deal turn out to be a waste of money.

Copies don't embellish interiors: they are kitsch illusions that translate a lack of respect for designs and designers. For the same price, why not buy another object, different, original, which at least has the elegance not to try to be something that it is not?

You can then ask us for free samples, which will be delivered to you against a deposit. We have large samples to give you an excellent idea of woods, leathers, fabrics, laminates, linoleums, metals and their finishes, carpets, etc. If a sample is missing, we order it from the brand.

Don't hesitate to write to us: we'll take the time to give you a detailed answer, by return e-mail or by telephone if that's more convenient.

You can also, of course, telephone us: but this is not the best method, as the person who answers your call is a generalist, who may know a lot of things but is not best placed to deal with questions that are too specific.

Products in stock at the time of your order are delivered within 24 to 48 working hours in mainland France for small packages sent by post, a little longer in neighbouring countries. 

For furniture delivered by standard carrier, the delivery time is 48 to 72 hours in France (this may or may not be guaranteed depending on the delivery method chosen), a little longer in neighbouring countries. If your order includes items with different delivery times, delivery may be grouped together according to the longest delivery time, unless you request otherwise by email.

Small parcels sent via the postal system (Colissimo and its European partners) will be delivered to you against signature, kept at the post office if you are absent or sent to a relay point if you prefer. You then have 15 days to collect them.

Bulky parcels are delivered by carrier to the foot of the building for standard deliveries or to the floor for premium deliveries. We never deliver without first contacting you to make sure you are available. If necessary, we can store your order free of charge to await your availability (within reasonable limits, of course: don't hesitate to contact us!).

Online payments on Scandinavia Design are subject to strict security protocols. 

The site obeys the https protocol (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure), which means that all communications between your browser and our website are encrypted, making it difficult to intercept and read data.

When you pay by credit card, you leave our site and enter the secure area of Banque Populaire Atlantique. The data is encrypted by SSL (Secure Socket Layer), known only to the bank and never stored. Payment security is enhanced by the 3D Secure authentication system.

When your order is dispatched, you will receive an e-mail informing you that it has been dispatched, with a tracking number so that you can follow the delivery of your parcels.

All products are sent with insurance, so you're perfectly protected. Please note, however, that for this protection to work, it is important to follow the detailed procedure that we will send you at the time of shipment. 

In particular, please note that if the delivery note is signed by the customer without any reservations being noted, then the product is considered to have been delivered in good condition, thus releasing Scandinavia design and the carrier from liability. It is therefore important to examine the contents of the package to ensure that the product is in good condition. 

If the product is damaged, it is important to describe the damage precisely on the delivery note (simply stating that the packaging is damaged is not sufficient). If the delivery person refuses to allow time to examine the contents, the customer should note on the delivery note that the delivery person did not allow time to check the contents of the package, despite the damaged packaging. Scandinavia design cannot accept responsibility for any damage if no reservations are made about the product.

Visible manufacturing defects must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

You have 14 days after delivery to cancel an order and request a refund. Just let us know before you return the product. The product must be returned in perfect condition, in its original packaging, which itself must be in good condition, with all brand logos legible, otherwise Scandinavia Design will not be able to refund the order. 

Please note that the cost of returning goods is the responsibility of the customer. We do not wish to encourage futile returns of products, with their attendant breakages and conflicts. 

Please note that products made to order (a large proportion of our furniture range: if in doubt, please ask us before ordering) or modified to order (such as cut fabric) cannot be cancelled or exchanged. Please note that an armchair or sofa customised with fabric or leather is always considered to be a made-to-order product, even when it is indicated that it is "pre-composed" and/or in stock and/or part of a rapid delivery programme.

In the event of a product exchange, the cost of re-shipment and any customs clearance shall be borne by the customer.
