Created by Peter J. Lassen, great-grandson of renowned manufacturer Fritz Hansen, Montana Furniture was born out of a collaboration with icons such as Arne Jacobsen, Jørn Utzon and Verner Panton. Based in Denmark, the brand has been producing furniture since 1982 at a high-tech facility, where skilled craftsmen transform lacquered MDF into versatile storage solutions. Montana stands out for its modularity, offering 36 modules, 4 depths and 42 water-based lacquer colours, allowing you to create almost tailor-made furniture for any space, whether it's a home, office or shop.
The Montana range offers storage systems and furniture designed for maximum flexibility and suitable for a variety of uses. Each piece, characterised by clean lines and a meticulous finish, reflects Scandinavian design. Here are the main categories:
Modular storage: The Montana System allows you to create bookcases, cabinets, sideboards and shelves using lacquered MDF modules (12 mm). For example, the Read bookcase (H211.8 x W139.2 x D30 cm) or the Pair sideboard (H76.6 x W139.2 x D38 cm) offer elegant solutions for the living room or bedroom.
Sideboards and chests of drawers: The Line sideboard (W139 x D30 x H38 cm), with its open shelves and closed cabinet, or the Keep chest of drawers (H94.8 x W69.6 x D46.8 cm) are available on legs, castors or a base, ideal for the hallway or office.
Hallway solutions: The Hall Edition includes shoe storage, benches, mirrors and coat racks, which can be combined with the Montana system for an organised hallway.
Desks and tables: The Bureau wall-mounted desk (H73.8 x W93.8 x D38 cm) with removable shelves, or the HiLow 3 adjustable table (H64-129 cm), incorporate technologies such as anti-collision for professional or domestic use.
Open shelving: The Montana Free system (2018, Jakob Wagner) offers 12 MDF shelving configurations (38 cm deep), available in 4 colours (White, Fjord, China Red, Black), with optional fabric panels to modulate the aesthetic.
Montana uses 12 mm lacquered MDF, certified eco-friendly, with 42 water-based lacquer finishes, ensuring a low environmental footprint. The furniture is available with mounting options (legs, castors, suspension rails or plinths), and some, such as HiLow 3, incorporate modern technologies (cable management, electric adjustment). For 25 years, Montana has been applying an environmental accounting system in collaboration with the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility. The Montana System, Mini, Free, Panton Wire and CO16 ranges come with a 10-year guarantee, while chairs and tables are guaranteed for 5 years.
