Tuukka Halonen
Tuukka Halonen is a highly talented designer with over 20 years' experience in commercial design. He graduated from the Royal College on Art in London in 1998.
From 2000 to 2004, he worked in the design department of Habitat Ltd., developing products with high-volume manufacturers worldwide. Tuukka set up his own design studio in 2005, back in Finland.
In his recent work, Tuukka has been influenced by traditional craftsmanship using wood in its various forms. He has created new interpretations of craft heritage using today's manufacturing techniques and materials.
"I want to study the material qualities, the beauty of structures". This is what emerges from the Pilke range of lighting fixtures, first presented in 2010.
