Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon of print design. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to faithfully capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral prints were earlier excluded from Marimekko collections. 

So, Maija Isola designed Unikko to be an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendition. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko´s design identity.

 The Tulva cotton rib jersey top has a slim, straight fit and it features the Unikko pattern. The long-sleeved top has an O-neck with a self-fabric finish.

 The Simpukka cotton rib jersey dress has a slim, straight fit, and it features the Unikko pattern. The sleeveless dress has an open neckline in the front, a low back neckline, and sleeve openings, all with a self-fabric finish.

MATCHING CLOTHES, BAGS AND ACCESSORIES

 The Virtaama knitted rib top has a straight, skinny fit and the Merirosvo pattern. The top has a ribbed O-neck, elbow-length sleeves, and side slits at the hem.

 The Meimi organic cotton poplin skirt has a relaxed, A-line fit and it features the embroidered Mini Unikko pattern. The gathered skirt has a waistband with a button and concealed zipper closure in the back seam.
