6718-W KAISER IDELL Wall Lamp
design Christian Dell, 1931
The Wall light 6718-W belongs to the famous KAISER IDELL collection by Christian Dell, initially designed for the Gebr, Kaiser & Co. lighting factory. The original lamp, the 6631 Luxus designed in 1931, was an immediate success when the brand's first catalog was launched : it became the undisputed top model of the KAISER IDELL collection which is now available as a table lamp, a wall lamp, a floor lamp and two pendants.
Recognized as a symbol of noble Bauhaus design, the KAISER IDELL series captivates with its geometric lines, exceptional quality materials (steel and brass, hand painted, chromed or silver plated) and its original engineering system. The shade of the 6718-W light with Dell's world-patented swivel joint combined with an extendable scissor arm brings flexible, focused light into the room.

Christian Dell was a German silversmith and designer. From 1922-25 he worked as a foreman of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar where he was the man behind a highly innovative and pioneering style of design.
The Bauhaus occupies a place of its own in the history of the 20th century culture; architecture, design, art and new media. As one of the first colleges of design, it brought together a number of the most outstanding contemporary architects and artists. Beginning in 1926 Dell sketched lights, often for the lamp factory Gebr. Kaiser & Co.
