Like an island floating in the middle of a room, Cinder Block is a generously sized modular sofa designed by Italian designer Luca Nichetto. Based on the combination of square seating modules available in different sizes, Cinder Block really gives free rein to the imagination. The geometric rigor of the armrests and rectangular backrests contrasts with the softness of the cushions to give the Cinder Block a remarkable look that invites you to relax.

Luca Nichetto

Luca Nichetto is an Italian designer born in Venice in 1976. In his hometown, he studied at the Institute of Art and later obtained a degree in industrial design at the University Institute of Architecture in Venice.

Luca Nichetto began his professional activity in 1999 designing his first Murano glass products for Salviati. The same year, he began a partnership with Foscarini for which, in addition to the signing of certain projects, he assumed the role of consultant for the research of new materials and the development of products (2001-2003). In 2006, he founded a first design studio specializing in industrial design and consulting, Nichetto&Partners, in Porto Marghera (near Venice). Five years later, in 2011, he opened a new studio in Stockholm, Sweden, in response to a growing number of requests for collaboration from international companies. Nichetto Studio has since expanded into areas such as interior design and architecture.

Luca Nichetto has already received important international awards during his career, including the Gran Design Award 2008, the Good Design Award from the Chicago Atheneum Museum of Architecture 2008, the IF Product Design Award 2008 and the Elle Decoration International Design Awards 2009 ( EDIDA) as designer of the year in the young talent category.
