Lisa Hilland was inspired by the traditional hunter's chair, with its metal frame, wooden seat and leather back, to design her Torso chair. This comfortable, functional chair features an eye-catching woven leather backrest.
The designer attaches great importance to Torso being produced in Sweden, as she prefers the environmental aspects as well as the practical quality control of a locally produced design. She can often be seen in the workshop looking for ecological solutions to improve the project. The newcomers are dressed to party and you'll find them in sophisticated bars and lounges. You could say that the Torso family is the lobster and champagne of chairs.

Lisa Hilland creates contemporary design with a poetic touch, combining modern high-tech production techniques with quality craftsmanship. A graduate of Central St Martin's College of Art and Design, she worked for ten years as a designer in London before setting up her own studio in Sweden in 2005.
"As a designer, I love materials and the way they influence the perception of an object. I'm constantly experimenting with the qualities of materials, using them in new combinations. Great design triggers our emotions and, in my opinion, materials have a big role to play in design - or, as I call it, giving an object a soul that we can love."
