Applique Cylindrique
Longue / Petite

design Charlotte Perriand, 1930 - 1938

The Appliques Cylindriques were designed by Charlotte Perriand for her chalet Le Vieux Matelot between 1930 and 1938. Her interest in pivoting lamp systems reflects the observation of human gestures: a simple pressure allows the lampshade to be oriented and control the light beam, giving total control on the light direction and intensity. The Applique Cylindrique is available in two sizes : Longue and Petite. Its classic version in light blue metal is also available in anthracite grey and white wash.

Charlotte Perriand

For Charlotte Perriand, lamps were not just a decorative element with no purpose, but a functional and technical component, a tool and an object serving specific needs.

Perriand's minimalistic approach instills a timeless character in her creations: these are the “Useful Forms” that came from the movement she co-founded in 1949.

Like Perriand's furniture, her lamps are not immovable, but rotate and bend themselves, adjusting to our needs.
