Oiva Toikka is one of the biggest names in Finnish design. His iconic collection of Iittala glass birds began life in 1972 at the Nuutajärvi glassworks.
Created in close collaboration with glassblowers, the collection combined Toikka's passion for nature with the art of glassblowing.
In 2014, production of the series was transferred to the Iittala glassworks, where Oiva Toikka continued its close partnership with the team.Â
Each hand-blown bird is unique down to the smallest detail.
Handmade and mouth-blown at the Iittala Glass Factory, the collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions.
