NIGHT OWL Table Lamp
design Nicholai Wiig Hansen, 2016
NIGHT OWL, by Nicholai Wiig Hansen, is a discreet table lamp with a strong personality. Its oval base plays with its asymmetric lampshade, which can be placed in 4 different positions allowing the black cable to exit the lamp in the desired direction. The NIGHT OWL Table Lamp casts a downward conical light.
It looks great on a desk, a shelf, a dresser, a window edge.

Nicholai Wiig Hansen
Nicholai Wiig Hansen is the son of two artists. His mother, Leila Sallyman, was an accomplished ceramicist, and his father, Svend Wiig Hansen, a world famous sculptor and painter. Art and design have always occupied an important place in the life of the young Nicholai Wiig Hansen who preferred museums halls to classrooms. It was then that his particular attraction to primitive art was born, an art that combines both the functional and the decorative aspects in all objects.
With his creative will and his great enthusiasm, Nicholai Wiig Hansen never doubted that he would work as a designer and launch his own design studio at the age of 26. Working with many brands, Nicholai Wiig Hansen has designed an extremely diverse panel of products ranging from chairs and tables to lamps and ceramics. Sensitive to light, to the aesthetics of proportions, he has a great sense of detail and each element of his creations carries a functional or aesthetic purpose.
As a teacher at the Swiss art school ECAL (Cantonal Art School of Lausanne), and artistic director of his own brand, Nicholai Wiig Hansen is an inspiration and today tries to facilitate the emergence of new talents.
