History: Designed by Constance Guisset for her graduation project, the Vertigo suspension became an icon as soon as it was released in 2010. It seduced Amélie du Passage, founder of Petite Friture, who took the risk of publishing this unusual luminaire despite the initial reluctance of publishers.
Concept: Described by Guisset as a “cabin lamp”, Vertigo combines lightness, movement and intimacy. It creates a graphic, transparent space that moves with the air currents, evoking a sensation of floating. The aim was to design a large-scale suspension (up to 2 meters in diameter) that would still be aerial.

Materials: Ultra-light structure in fiberglass and steel, with hand-laid polyurethane ribbons for a velvety feel. The cable is in textile mesh, and the lampholder in steel.
Care: Light cleaning with a feather duster or soft, slightly damp cloth for thorough cleaning.

Design: The enveloping structure of the polyurethane ribbons creates a play of shadows projected onto the ceiling, offering an intimate, poetic ambience. Its fluid movement, reacting to air currents, adds a dynamic dimension.
Adaptability: Vertigo fits into both large and small spaces, thanks to its three sizes and its ability to be height-adjustable.
Museums and collections: Exhibited by gallery owner Rossana Orlandi in Milan, Vertigo is part of the permanent collections of MoMA (New York), MAD (Paris) and Le Cap.
Awards: Awarded the Prix du Public at Villa Noailles in 2006 and the Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris in 2008.

Manufacturing: Produced in France by APF France Handicap, a choice made in 2010 reflecting Petite Friture's ambition to “bring out the good in the beautiful”. More than 30 craftsmen produce these luminaires with meticulous care, reinforcing the brand's social commitment.
Ethics: Local production respects rigorous standards, reduces carbon footprint and supports the French economy.

The Vertigo suspension lamp is much more than a luminaire: it's a functional work of art that combines innovation, poetry and ethical commitment. Its timeless design, play of shadows and lightness make it a popular choice for contemporary decorators.
