The Setago portable lamp, designed by Jaime Hayon for &Tradition in 2019, is a playful, compact cordless lamp inspired by Japanese lanterns and a mushroom silhouette (“seta” in Spanish, complemented by “go” for its mobility). It embodies Hayon's cheerful, optimistic aesthetic, combining refined craftsmanship with modern functionality. Perfect for interiors or dry terraces, it adds a touch of nomadic elegance.
The Setago lamp captivates with its organic, mushroom-like shape, rounded molded polycarbonate shade and contrasting base, available in contemporary color combinations. Measuring Ø 23 cm x H 22 cm and weighing 0.5 kg, it is lightweight and easy to transport. Equipped with an integrated dimmable LED (3W, 2700K, 225 lm, CRI 80), it offers three intensities (100%, 70%, 40%) via a brass touch dimmer, creating a soft ambient light.
Rechargeable via micro-USB cable (included), it guarantees 10 hours' runtime at full intensity (charge in 8 hours) and a replaceable battery (Li-Ion 2600 mAh). IP43-certified, it is suitable for outdoor use in dry weather. Its cordless design makes it easy to move from living room to garden table, freeing up space while remaining sculptural.
Jaime Hayon, born in Madrid in 1974, is a Spanish designer known for his baroque, optimistic style, blending art, craftsmanship and industrial design. Trained in Madrid and Paris, he founded his studio in 2000 after working for Benetton. Collaborating with brands such as Fritz Hansen and Baccarat, he excels in poetic creations, such as the Formakami suspension for &Tradition. Setago reflects his taste for visual storytelling, inspired by the lightness of Japanese lanterns and the mobility of an object picked “like a mushroom”. &Tradition, a Danish publisher founded in 2010, supports this vision by blending classic (Verner Panton) and contemporary designs, making Setago a symbol of modern flexibility.
&Tradition produces the Setago lamp with precision craftsmanship, using molded polycarbonate for the structure and a brass dimmer for a sophisticated touch. The integrated LED (25,000-hour life) and rechargeable battery ensure long-lasting use, while the partially recyclable materials are in line with the brand's commitment to eco-responsible production. Each lamp is tested to guarantee quality and durability.
