The ongoing Marimekko Home Unikko blue collection highlights one of the Finnish brand's most emblematic patterns, designed by Maija Isola in 1964. The Unikko pattern, with its stylized poppies, was born of a daring challenge: while Marimekko founder Armi Ratia had banned floral motifs as outmoded, Isola created a series of floral motifs so innovative that they overturned this vision.

The Unikko motif is inspired by the poppies Maija Isola observed in nature, but transcends simple floral reproduction with its bold graphic design. The rounded, dynamic shapes of the flowers, combined with simple lines and vibrant colors, reflect the influence of folk art and the modern aesthetic of the 60s. In the blue version, the contrast between the blue poppies and the white background creates a soothing yet energetic ambience, ideal for living spaces such as bedrooms or living rooms.

The Unikko blue collection blends harmoniously into a variety of interior styles, thanks to its soothing palette and versatile graphic design. Textiles bring a touch of Scandinavian freshness to a room, creating a relaxing atmosphere conducive to rest. Accessories add a dynamic note to a living or dining room. The white stoneware crockery, adorned with the blue Unikko motif, is dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer-safe, combining aesthetics and functionality for everyday or festive use.
