Marimekko’s famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house’s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.

Marimekko Home's continuous Unikko beige collection embodies the timeless heritage of Finnish design, centered on the iconic Unikko motif, created in 1964 by designer Maija Isola. This floral motif, inspired by the poppy, was born of an act of creative defiance in the face of Marimekko founder Armi Ratia's desire to ban floral motifs, then deemed out of fashion.

The beige color, with its soft, warm tones, lends a subtle, versatile elegance to this collection, which is equally at home in modern and classic interiors.

The beige Unikko pattern adorns a varied range of products: cotton fabrics, curtains, cushions, comforter covers, terry towels and stoneware crockery. Accessories such as cotton tote bags offer a practical yet stylish touch. The neutral hues and graphic shapes of poppies bring a discreet modernity, ideal for a variety of spaces.
