Solare collection
Iittala's Solare collection, launched in March 2025, is a series of glass tableware and objects inspired by sunlight and the energy it transmits, echoing the cycles of the Nordic seasons. Designed under the direction of Janni Vepsäläinen (Creative Director) and Harri Koskinen (Senior Designer), it follows on from the Kaamos collection, which evoked the polar night, this time celebrating the return of light.
Concept & inspiration
Solare captures the essence of light through fluid shapes, rich textures and vibrant colors. It is inspired by the sun, a symbol of movement and energy, and aims to transform the culinary experience into a luminous and special moment.
Design & functionality
Shapes the lines are modern, with soft curves and sculptural silhouettes that catch the light in a dynamic way.
Practicality glass and ceramics are stackable, durable and designed for everyday use, while remaining elegant for special occasions.
Sensory experience textures and light effects make each piece both tactile and visually captivating.
