Francis coffee tables
Constance Guisset

Francis coffee tables Constance Guisset

The original mirror design from 2012 by Constance Guisset has been combined with ceremonial shapes to become a mirror-coffee table that brings poetry and design into any living-room. The extra-large format turns FRANCIS into a true statement piece. Watercolours in the Francis mirror draw on the unexpected beauty found in old, oxidised mirrors and the poetic grace of coloured pigments blooming in clear water, the likes of which can be seen in painter’s studio.

Each piece in the stunning mirror-table series has its own unique watercolour. The narrower the mirror, the more vibrant and animated the colour. Watercolour designs are hand-painted by the designer before being digitally altered to obtain the desired effect of multiple, semi-transparent, tinted layers. Ultimately, this technique enables the designer to work with shape and form, enhancing the movement of colour and imbuing the mirror-coffee table with the same sense of harmony that is behind the success of the FRANCIS  mirrors.

The watercolour designs are printed onto the base of the mirror which is then laminated, thereby giving the finished FRANCIS mirror-coffee table greater visual depth and making it much more resistant.

This piece received the Stylepark Selected Award at the 2019 Salone del Mobile.
