Born in Germany, Theresa Rand graduated in 2013 from The Royal Danish Academy of Arts. As a student in Copenhagen she fell in love with the city and the Danish tradition in furniture design: ‘My plan was to go to Berlin after my studies, but I find Copenhagen very inspiring, so I stayed.’ Swiftly establishing a reputation as a design talent to watch, Theresa Rand makes practical furniture, to be used every day, with soul: “I think I design in a quite ‘German’ way. I am very pragmatic, but I also think it’s important that the objects that we surround ourselves with have warmth and poetry.”

Turning table
design Theresa Arns, 2017
The Turning coffee table fits perfectly into the tradition of Scandinavian furniture with its simple lines, elegant and thought in every detail. Theresa Arns, a young German designer, has created a very practical and versatile coffee table that can store books, magazines and small items. The top of the tray is made in wood veneer and shows a beautiful grain. It can turn around one of the solid wood legs to reveal this hidden storage space. Small refined detail: the 3 legs of the tables are connected to each other by thin metal rods, in black chrome or brass.
