White is a type of leather of the finest quality oxhide and combines a natural look with the practical. The leather is semi-aniline and full grain, which means that the natural surface structure has been preserved. The leather has been treated with a light finish, making the hide more resilient and easier to look after. White is soft to the touch and offers excellent sitting comfort. The surface of the lighter colours may seem more concealed as many pigments are often used in the process. White is also more susceptible to dirt than other colours.
Elegance is an exquisite type of leather of the finest quality European oxhide. It has an exclusive and natural look and is soft and pleasant to the touch. Elegance is aniline leather and is chrome tanned but then subsequently vegetable tanned, which gives the leather greater firmness. This type of leather has a natural and raw surface, allowing the leather to breathe and offers excellent sitting comfort as well as a feeling of exclusivity. The leather is full grain, which means that its natural surface structure has been preserved and all natural markings are visible. Natural markings are the hallmarks of the animal’s active life and give the piece of furniture a unique sense of character. Elegance leather varies in colour from hide to hide and acquires a beautiful, lighter patina with use and exposure to sunlight.
Classic is a durable and very user-friendly type of leather, giving a more uniform look on upholstered furniture. Classic is pigmented and has a strong surface finish, making the leather resilient to dirt and light exposure so that the leather maintains its looks over time. The surface has a slight grain, which means that the natural structure is visible. This gives a very pure expression, almost without visible natural markings.
Soft is a very smooth and soft type of leather, combining a natural look with durability and user-friendliness. This type of leather comes from European hides and is semi-aniline. The leather is full grain, which means that its natural surface structure has been preserved. Soft has been treated with a light finish, making it durable and very user-friendly with excellent sitting comfort. This type of leather has the added advantage of being colourfast.

100% new wool – Durability: 45.000 Martindale

Divina Melange 2

has been extremely well received by the market. Divina family is a textile collection characterised by its lack of texture and nap and consequently the fabric accentuates the dimensions of the furniture, giving prominence to the colours. Melange means mixture. The existing six grey and beige colourways are produced by mixing varying proportions of either black or brown wool with white wool. The different colours of wool are mixed before the garment is spun. The new colourways have come about by dipping the two base colours in bold, virtually luminous pigments. The result is 24 coloured melanges.

Divina MD

is an upholstery textile designed by Finn Sködt. Available in sophisticated, rich colours, which reveal hidden depths as the perspective of the viewer changes, it makes a strong colour statement. Thanks to its smooth, directionless and consistent surface, it complements the shape of furniture very well and is ideal for organically shaped furniture.

Suitable for soft seating for both contract and private use, material-dyed Divina MD is soft, comfortable and durable. A heavily milled textile, it is manufactured by weaving yarn in a plain weave and then shrinking it in a mechanical process, which uses high temperatures. This method gives it an attractive felt-like look, which is similar to Divina and Divina Melange, the other fabrics in the Divina ‘family’.

100% new wool – Durability: 45.000 Martindale.

Divina 3 upholstery has become a classic within the collection and is still very popular. Finn Sködt is renowned for his exceptional ability in first finding and then blending colours. His starting point is always in the primary colours – red, yellow and blue; after which he begins to pick out other colours and nuances Finn Sködt’s work especially favours clear colours and is often inspired by his background in graphics and the arts. Divina is a full-cloth product, which means that it is manufactured by weaving the yarn in a coarse linen hose casing, after which, it is subjected to mechanical processing using very high temperatures, at the same time as it is being coloured. This creates a situation where the surface becomes smooth, directionless and uniform in a manner very similar to the properties of felt.

70% wool, 30% viscose – Durability: 100.000 Martindale

Kvadrat’s first textile

Hallingdal

has become the archetype of woollen textiles. The very durable upholstery fabric was originally designed in 1965 by Nanna Ditzel. Hallingdal 65 is made of wool and viscose: the wool provides excellent durability and flexibility, whilst the viscose adds brilliance and depth to the colour. Both materials are dyed before they are spun, which highlights the rich texture of the fabric.

The fabric comes in 58 colourways: some are unicoloured, others are constructed from 2 different unicoloured yarns, and the rest are created using unicoloured yarns in combination with melange yarns. Many of the colours are drawn from the original colour scale, including the 22 new shades, which have been ‘rediscovered’. The versatile palette includes neutral and strong, primary colours, as well as the designer’s favourite hues: turquoise and pink.

90% new wool, 10% Helanca – Durability: 100.000 Martindale

Tonus 4 is an elastic upholstery fabric by late textile artist Nina Koppel. Ideal for modern organic furniture and characterised by rare colour richness, it comes in a total of 47 hues.

Tonus brings colours to life in vibrant, precise fashion. Building on this characteristic, the intensity and brightness of all the colours have been increased. The new earthy, golden tones in the palette are taken from Nina Koppel’s original colour archive. They show her brilliant sense of colour, which reflects that she mastered all facets of the colour design from the warm tones associated with spices and Oriental mysticism, to the cooler Nordic aquamarine colours.

Steelcut 2

,

Steelcut Trio

features an innovative weave, which gives the fabric a three-dimensional surface resembling small pyramids or steel points and, despite the complexity of the weave, a simple and precise expression. The difference between Steelcut Trio and Steelcut lies in the way they are coloured. Unlike Steelcut, Steelcut Trio is yarn-dyed and made from 3 differently coloured yarns, often with very bright tones on the warp and lighter tones on the weft. This combination not only accentuates the three dimensional character of the weave, it also adds life to the fabric: though it looks unicoloured from a distance, different shades are revealed as the viewer gets nearer.

90% new wool, 10% nylon – Durability: 80.000 Martindale

Steelcut

is a hardwearing upholstery textile, which is an evolution of Steelcut in an additional colour scale. It is designed by Frans Dijkmeijer and coloured by Giulio Ridolfo. The fabric features an innovative weave, which creates a three-dimensional surface resembling small pyramids or steel points. This gives Steelcut 2 a simple, precise expression, despite the complex weaving technique used in its production.

Fame fabric – price group 1

95% wool of New Zealand, 5% polyamide – Durability: 200.000 Martindale

Fame is a unique woollen upholstery fabric with a wearability of 200,000 Martindale, but which is nevertheless extra soft and stretchable. The fabric is silky smooth thanks to its exclusive fine woollen worsted – a finer wool than is generally seen on the contract market, but assured of outstanding durability via new yarn structures and spinning methods. Fame possesses unique upholstering properties. The fabric stretches 9.5% in both directions. Perfect upholstering is therefore easier with Fame, even on furniture with round and organic forms.

The new scale has a dynamic expression incorporating hints of green, yellow, orange and red. Brown, copper and rust tones make a strong visual impact in combination with fresh and luminous pastels. Refreshing blue shades are chosen for their fluidity, and they float across the material in waves ranging from grey-blue to aqua into deep indigo.

Canvas fabric – price group 2

90% wool / 10% nylon – Durability: 100.000 Martindale

Canvas is a refined woolen upholstery textile, which comes in seductive yet subtle colourways inspired by women’s couture. Featuring a relatively voluminous and soft weave, Canvas is constructed from material dyed yarns and, consequently, offers exceptional colour richness. Its yarns comprise up to three colours and, as two differently coloured yarns are used to create every colourway, each combines up to six hues. Versatile Canvas is suitable for both contract and private use: it is very durable and, as a result, offers a long-life span. Many of the colourways for Canvas complement those of
