The Flavigny table takes its name from the sanatorium of Flavigny in Moselle, equipped by Jean Prouvé after the Second World War. It belongs to a furniture series with characteristic lines of his work, created at the request of the Solvay chemical company. Relaunched by Vitra as an elegant dining table, the Flavigny table seduces by the contrast between the domestic appearance of the solid wooden table top and the more industrial metal base. The 4 Prouvé's typical powerful legs are positioned at 45° at the outer corners of the table top to maximize the leg space.
Table Flavigny is available in the standard dimensions of 240 x 90 cm with solid wood table tops in natural oak, smoked oak or American walnut with an oiled finish. Other dimensions can be easily produced upon request. The base has a smooth powder-coated finish in deep black, with leg tips made of robust, polished aluminium to protect against dirt and scuffing. The glides can be adjusted within a range of 10 mm to accommodate uneven floors.
