Lisa Hilland
Lisa Hilland is an awarded furniture designer. As a furniture designer, she has always wanted to create a piece of furniture that could combine her two interests: fashion and design. This is how she came up with the Torso collection.
After graduating from Central St Martin's College of Art she worked for ten years in London before setting up her own studio in 2005 based in Sweden. Her creations combine contemporary design with a poetic twist to do so she associates modern high-tech production techniques with artisan quality craftsmanship.
The Torso’s series by designer Lisa Hilland’s is composed of three complementary elements. In 2017, the designer created the Torso chair for which she drew inspiration from her two passion furniture design and fashion. The chair is inspired by the classic hunter chair that also embodies traditional Swedish craft. The woven leather back brings back to memory the strapped corset. The elegant chairs are nonetheless striking and bold in their expression.
These aspects were used anew by Lisa Hilland in 2018 when she expanded the Torso collection with the barstool and the lounge chair. Both share the same qualities as the chair: comfort, elegance and poetic lines.
