Lena Bergström is one of Sweden’s best-known glass designers, with a long career at Orrefors glassworks. She also specializes in textiles. She enjoys “soft glass and hard textiles,” as she puts it. Her textiles often have an obviously graphic appearance, while her glass constructions explore more organic shapes.

Lena has received numerous distinctions, including twelve Design S Awards and three Elle Decoration Design Awards. Her work is represented at Nationalmuseum, Röhsska Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The basket rug is entirely handmade. The special technic of tufting by hand in different directions improves the three-dimensional feel of it. Several yarns of different colors create the desired polish. The rug is then hand-cut, optical illusion and a graphic design that pays homage to the traditions of Swedish crafts, such as birchbark baskets and backpacks. Sharp angles and smooth transitions play a role in the shadows game both illusory and real.

It is available in 2 colors: beige and grey. There are four standard sizes, but it can be customized as a special order in other sizes.
