The M3 lamp was designed in 1952 by the French designer Michel Mortier. Its elegant curved tube, made of black metal, serves as a base and axis for the coloured lampshade. Turned into a wall lamp thanks to its wall-mounting accessory, all you have to do is direct the light according to your needs: downwards for an intimate light, like a reading light, or upwards for indirect lighting that dresses up walls and ceiling.
All Sammode Studio lights are made in Châtillon-sur-Saône in the Vosges.

A French designer revolutionising residential lighting Lighting is an area in which Michel Mortier has always shown a keen interest and an unparalleled imagination. His style? A spirit that rejects the anecdotal, an elegant design that tends towards purity, a subtle sense of colour and materials. In the early 1950s, Michel Mortier designed a series of lights that he named with a simple "M": "M1", "M2", "M3", and so on. All of them were published by the lamp manufacturer Disderot. Each of them has its own characteristics.
