Herman Studio: "With the Lightweight bench and stool, we wanted to pay homage to the traditions of classical joinery by building the furniture with beautiful, classically styled wood joints.

We wanted to create a piece of furniture with a light impact, both visually and physically, that reflects the quality rooted in our contemporary design language."

This ultra-legible collection is also sturdy and solid thanks to the high-quality design of the detailed half-leather joints and solid wood slats.

It's an elegantly posed bench and stool, and its minimalist design makes it perfect for use in most living spaces.

Herman Studio

Herman Studio was founded in 2012 by the two architects Helle Herman Mortensen and Jonas Herman Pedersen.

Their work ranges from textiles, ceramics, lighting and furniture design to interior decoration.

One of the hallmarks of their design is their attention to the contours of objects.

By working with a distinctive contour for each object, the craftsmanship allows the design to stand out while remaining simple and easily recognizable.

Their great passion for design and appreciation of aesthetic principles complement their use of traditional materials and methods.

They work in an iterative process between sketches, models and prototypes.

Their design process begins with a detailed study of construction methods, an approach that plays a central role throughout the design process. The workshop is therefore an essential part of their studio.
