Faced with the challenge of the blank sheet of paper, several authors capture their own essence on designer rugs. A graphic and industrial designer, a painter, a fashion designer and a writer and gallerist each sign exclusive drawings that make up the "Black on White" collection, in which very personal visions of the contemporary carpet object shine through: Estambul and Manuscrit have the absence of color in common.

All share a common bond: the choice of the absence of color, the binomial black and white, to intensify their identity. A dichotomy. A horizontal canvas. A work of art underfoot.

Javier Mariscal & Joaquim Ruiz Millet

Since the 1970s, when he picked up a pencil to earn a living, Javier Mariscal's career has been marked by his "creative incontinence" and his need to express himself through various disciplines, artistic and otherwise.

Born in Valencia, Mariscal developed his professional career in Barcelona. The Mediterranean culture of these two cities is reflected in his work: hedonism, optimism and symbolism, as well as the vibrant range of colors and his poetic approach. Before the multidisciplinary approach to projects became a recognized value, his professional activity of moving from one discipline to another, thanks to his tireless curiosity and passion for innovation, helped to make everyday life more interesting, easier and more convivial. From furniture design to painting, sculpture and illustration, interior architecture and graphic design, animation and landscaping, among others, all have been treated with her unique professional and personal vision.
