Anna Werner was sketching at her desk when she stopped to have a piece of candy. She reached for a shiny gold wrapper, a symbol of nostalgia, and colored thoughts began wandering into her mind. Suddenly, she dropped the candy, and as she looked down at the twisted wrapper, the bag designer saw the sweet treat come to life.

Karla is a modern twist on a classic sweet.

Anna Werner
Anna Werner is an accessories designer living in Stockholm. She graduated from Beckman School of Design in 2000 and started her own brand at the same time. She has since expanded to design for well-known brands in other countries.
The form and structure she seeks in her designs are drawn from everyday objects. According to Anna, beautiful and narrative objects should be universal and practical.
Anna has been designing for Marimekko since 2014.
