HAY has invited Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to design a new collection of furniture for the redesigned University of Copenhagen (KUA). The collection includes several tables and desks. With its small size, CPH90 Copenhague desk is an interpretation of an old school desk.

Desktop 18-mm plywood with wood veneer, white laminate or linoleum (linoleum is an organic material made from vegetable oils, matt finish, warm to the touch)

Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec

The Bouroullec brothers, Ronan (born in 1971) and Erwan (born in 1976), grew up in Quimper, France. They studied at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Cergy-Pontoise, respectively. In 1999, they became partners and founded their own Paris-based design studio. Their work ranges from small utilitarian objects to big architectural projects. In addition to the design of domestic and office furniture, vases, porcelain dishware, jewelry and diverse home accessories, a primary focus of their work is the design and organization of interior space.

Throughout their celebrated career, Studio Bouroullec has collaborated with renowned brands such as Vitra, Magis, Alessi, Samsung and HAY. Their work has been exhibited throughout the world including the Design Museum (London), Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago & Los Angeles) and the Arts Décoratifs (Paris).
