COCO Chair

design
OeO Studio, 2016

The Coco Chair was designed by OeO Studio with the ambition to obtain a high level of comfort. This was achieved with great economy of means and a remarkable simplicity of the forms, which give the chair its mid-industrial mi-fashion look, which is reminiscent of the German Bauhaus. Its starkness leads to the expressiveness of details: the shape cushions, the weave of the fabric, the contrast of metal and padding. Its strong and feminine character has earned it to be named Coco, a rich connotations name.

The Coco Chair base is available in black powder-coated steel. The seat and back rest is moulded plywood, either wood veneered or fully upholstered. The Coco Chair can be used in public space as private.

OeO Studio creates award-winning designs for a wide range of discerning clients, with the concept of "compelling minimalism" as a common thread.

Thomas Lykke (b. 1971) trained as a fashion designer in Copenhagen and San Francisco before entering the design industry as interiors editor for Wallpaper Magazine 2000–2003.

Anne-Marie Buemann holds a degree in international marketing management and has worked as a consultant in several creative industries in addition to having held a position at the Danish Embassy in Paris before joining OeO in 2003.

Renowned for its meticulous attention to detail, OeO Studio has a refined ability to discern each brand's unique DNA - its heritage and core qualities. OeO Studio has obtained more than 20 nominations and awards in the past years (2012 Elle Decoration International Design Award for Best Furniture, at least one Danish Design Award nomination or prize every year from 2012 to 2019 and one first nomination for the Dezeen and the Wallpaper Design Award wallpaper). Recently involved in the revitalization of Kyoto's traditional craft scene, OeO now has a multidisciplinary team of international talents.
