Fritz Hansen dining chairs

Immerse yourself in the legendary history of Scandinavian design with the Fritz Hansen chair collection from Scandinavia Design. Combining Danish heritage, precise craftsmanship and formal innovation, each model expresses a sophisticated balance between fluid aesthetics, comfort and functionality.

Emblematic designs by Arne Jacobsen

The Series 7 Chair (1955) embodies the quintessence of modern design: a nine-layer moulded plywood shell, stackable, lightweight and available in upholstered, swivel and armrest versions. With several million units sold, it remains Fritz Hansen's most iconic chair.

The Ant Chair (1952) was a pioneering creation designed to be ultra-light and stackable, recognisable by its slim organic profile reminiscent of an ant.

The Lily Chair (1968/70) combines comfort and elegance thanks to its laminated shell that follows the natural curves of the back, originally developed for the National Bank of Denmark.

The Drop Chair, reissued in 2014, reflects Arne Jacobsen's experimental minimalism: upholstered polyurethane shell, metal base, available in upholstered or plastic versions.

The Grand Prix Chair (1957) and the Little Giraffe Chair (1959) are also among Arne Jacobsen's historic designs available in the catalogue.

Other iconic references and innovative collaborations

Poul Kjærholm has designed models such as PK8, PK9 and PK15, combining metal structures and wood for a sober, lasting elegance.

The Monolit Chair (Cecilie Manz) is a contemporary piece with a minimalist design inspired by Japanese architecture, designed for modern, sustainable spaces.

With the N01 and N02 Recycled Chairs, Nendo uses recycled materials in design, creating aesthetic, lightweight and responsible chairs.

Quality materials & sustainable manufacturing

Fritz Hansen is synonymous with carefully selected materials: moulded plywood, noble woods (oak, walnut, maple, beech), chromed metal, genuine leather and premium fabrics. Their manufacture combines technical innovation and Danish craftsmanship with a strong commitment to the environment. Series 7 is constructed from nine layers of pressure veneer, ensuring strength and finesse.

Versatile Nordic style & decorative integration

Fritz Hansen models lend themselves to a variety of environments: dining room, office, catering space or conference room. Their sober, refined aesthetic blends equally well with contemporary, minimalist or industrial décor, and their ergonomics ensure lasting visual and seating comfort.
