The OGK Safari collection was designed by Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen in 1962. It was designed for his son who was going camping. When his son had a sore throat, this caring father designed the saw bench so his son wouldn't shiver on the bare ground. The daybed can be used for many things: sunbathing, decorating, etc., but it's also highly recommended as an excellent guest bed. It's great for sunbathing in the garden, practical for the teenager's bedroom, great for playing Playstation, decorative on the boat deck and many other places where this little design gem can come in handy.
The daybed and armchair come in a linen bag with a shoulder strap. Easy to transport and assemble

Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen
Ole Gjerløv-Knuden (1930 - 2009) is a Danish furniture architect, the son of C.O. Gjerløv-Knudsen.
He studied at the Håndværkerskolen School of Cabinetmaking, graduating in 1952, and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts until 1955. Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen designed furniture series for joinery and industrial production, and became known for his lightweight furniture in beechwood and plywood.
Between 1967 and 1990, Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen was director of the Danish School of Arts and Crafts (Skolen for Brugskunst/Danmarks Designskole).
In his last professional years, together with cabinetmaker Ivan Schlechter, he ran a furniture repair and restoration workshop in Gilleleje.
Throughout his life, Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen was extremely productive and his creations were many and varied.
